Carbon chainrings are the ultimate in bling bling. They’re a bit thicker than standard chainrings because they’re actually a layer of aluminium and carbon bonded together, so definitely make sure you get the CYBREI chainring bolts as well if you don’t already have extra long chainring bolts. I can’t tell if there’s any increased stiffness because my max power is too low, but they look amazing and they’re plenty light. The fact the teeth are aluminium means they should have a fairly long life!
I give 4 stars because I think they’re pretty pricey.

I’ve been using these chainrings for a few weeks now, and I’m really happy with how they look paired with the Cybrei Crank and Powermeter.
I switched from a Dura-Ace Crank 54-40 to the Cybrei Crank and Rings 54-38. To be honest, I don’t notice a significant difference in shifting. While Dura-Ace may have a slight edge, once I fine-tuned the shifting, these chainrings worked just as well. There is a bit more noise, but it’s minor and doesn’t affect performance.
These are clearly a high-quality piece of kit, just like the crank itself. I’m impressed with both. I’ll likely purchase the 50-34 and 52-36 options at some point. 🙂
