While unknown in the west, Craft Racing Works (CRW) have been quietly building wheelsets for other companies since 2015. They launched their own brand in 2018 and in 2020 started designing their own hubs. They’re a small team who pay attention to the details. They put an emphasis on the performance of the wheelset as a whole as opposed to individual components. They often experiment with new technologies such as Berd spokes and aren't afraid to try new things. As a new brand with a limited number of wheels out on in the wild, it's hard to give them a rating for durability or longevity. As always, early adopters take the risk of being a guinea pig, but the advantage is that you get a great performing wheelset at a great price before the brand raises prices due to the overheads of being a larger brand. There is a manufacturer's warranty with the wheels, so that does provide some peace of mind.

    CRW are famous for their carbon spoked road wheels, but these gravel wheels may just be a dark horse. Of course they’re light. Ridiculously light. Despite their wide 24mm internal and 30mm external width, these hit the scales at just 1260g. Thats hundreds of grams lighter than the competition. While weight isn’t everything (especially in gravel) you definitely notice and appreciate the lightness when climbing or accelerating, Tubeless setup was easy enough. I needed to take out the valve cores to seat the tires… but a minor step in the setup. Loving these overall, wish there was a 650B version too!

My Canyon Grizl feels like a whole new bike with these wheels – the speed and comfort are outstanding. I was considering other options, but I am so glad I went with these wheels. The quality at this price point is unbeatable. I placed my order on a Sunday and received them in record time – just over two weeks from China to my little town in Arkansas. I am beyond impressed with these wheels and highly recommend them to anyone looking to take their cycling experience to the next level.
